Hearing Aids

We do not focus on one specific hearing aid manufacturer and therefore select the hearing aid that best suits your needs. There is a wide range of hearing aids available today. There are different styles, circuits, features and assistive devices. We will discuss these options with you and help you to make the decision on which is the best option for you.

Several hearing aid manufacturers are now offering products that are compatible with Bluetooth devices. This means that you now have the capability to hear your cell phone through your hearing aids. Many people complain that they are not able to hear their phone ringing and also struggle to hear conversation. With the new hearing aids and devices, you hear the ring of the phone as well as the conversation right in your hearing aids. This means that you are getting the appropriate volume for your hearing loss. There are other devices which are also compatible such as blue tooth adaptors for home telephones, televisions and iPod or MP3 players.

Funding Options:

Everyone with a valid Ontario Health card is eligible to receive funding through the Assistive Devices Program every five years. We can also access funding through Worker’s Compensation or Veterans’ Affairs Canada if you have a claim with either department. Private pay individuals should check extended health benefits for hearing aid coverage as many benefit packages typically pay a portion of the cost.

Amplified telephones

We have a variety of amplified telephones including cordless telephones for you to choose from.

In-Line Telephone amplifiers

These are easily added to your current corded telephone and a volume control to adjust the amount of volume you require.

Hearing Aid Batteries

We have all sizes of batteries, 10 to 675. With the purchase of hearing aid batteries you are automatically enrolled in our battery club. This allows you a free package of batteries once you have purchased seven packages.

Hearing Protection

Noise Plugs - Custom fit solid earplugs provide protection from excessive noise levels associated with a variety of recreational and occupational environments. This is the ideal option when the main purpose is reduction of noise rather than the ability to communicate.

Noise Braker – This is very similar to the noise plug but has a small hole drilled through with a small filter. This is ideal when noise reduction is necessary as well as the ability to hear some low frequency sound.

Swim Molds

Custom fit waterproof swim molds are ideal for individuals prone to ear infections or other ear problems. They are made of a soft material, New Sil, which provides an excellent seal to keep most water out. There is also an option of having them made with a floatable material so you won’t lose them in the water. Swim molds are available in a variety of colours, including several neon colours. You can also swirl up to three different colours per pair. Handles and a cord are included with each pair, as well as a zippered wrist pouch.

Sleep Plugs

The custom fit, solid sleep plug is made of a soft material which allows for a comfortable sleep while reducing background noise. These are available in a variety of colours.

Musician’s plugs

These custom fit ear plugs are ideal hearing protection for any musician. The combination of a special filter with the acoustics of the custom earmold provide a smooth, flat attenuate helping to keep the natural sound of the music. They are available with a 9 dB, 15 dB or 25 dB filter depending on your specific requirement. These numbers indicate the amount of sound reduction for each plug.

MP3/iPod earmolds

These custom fit earmolds provide a secure fit, staying in place during exercise or physical activity.

Earobics

This is an auditory training program for individuals with Central Auditory processing problems. It teaches the listening and phonological awareness skills that are required for reading and spelling success.
